Opened in 1926 and located in Akron, Ohio, Garfield High School is an educational institution that offers a variety of academic and enrichment programs for more than 1,300 students in grades 9 through 12. The school provides intervention classes in math, science and language arts. It also offers career pathways exploration programs in business education, health services, human resources, and industrial and engineering technology. Garfield High School provides career education programs in medical technology, graphics, marketing, cosmetology, information technology, computer-aided drafting, restaurant management and pre-engineering. The school offers various athletic activities that include volleyball, soccer, golf, wrestling, and track and field. It is governed by Akron Public Schools, which operates various elementary, middle and high schools.
