McComb Fire Department
The McComb Fire Department, established in 1915 after a significant restructuring from an all-volunteer organization, is dedicated to effectively combating fires and ensuring the safety of the McComb community. With a team of 39 full-time firefighters working 24-hour shifts, the department is committed to maintaining high training standards and expanding its equipment as needed.
In addition to fire suppression, the department operates a hazardous materials team, known as HazMat, in collaboration with Pike County to manage dangerous situations involving chemical spills. They also feature a dive rescue team to assist with operations in the region's waterways, further enhancing public safety and emergency response capabilities.
