Brush Engineered Materials principal activity is to manufacture high-performance engineered materials. It serves the worldwide telecommunications and computer, optical media, automotive electronics, industrial components, aerospace, and defense and appliance markets. The company operates in two segments, the metal systems group and the microelectronics group. The metal systems group comprises of strip and bulk alloy primarily copper beryllium, beryllium products and engineered materials. The microelectronics group manufactures a variety of products, such as precious and nonprecious vapor deposition materials, other precious and nonprecious metal products, ceramics, electronic packages, powdered metals and circuitry. Metal systems typically account for more than 60 percent of revenues while microelectronics accounts for nearly 40 percent and other miscellaneous items account for less than 2 percent. Brush Engineered Materials is located in Cleveland.
