Cleveland Water Division
The Cleveland Division of Water is a part of the Department of Public Utilities, which is administered by the government of City of Cleveland in Ohio. The division has been providing water services to more than 1 million customers for over 150 years. All its water treatment plants maintain certification with the Partnership for Safe Water, which is a cooperative effort among the Environmental Protection Agency, American Water Works Association (AWWA), Association of Metropolitan Water Agencies (AMWA) and other drinking water organizations. The division s staff of approximately 450 men and women maintains nearly 5,200 miles of water mains, pipes, valves, connections and hydrants. It is a sponsor of the Student Technical Enrichment Program (STEP), an educational outreach program designed to increase students interests in career fields involving math, science, engineering or technology.
