Begun as a grassroots, volunteer group, the organization became a nonprofit in 2002. FutureHeights programs, including the Heights Observer community newspaper, hosting national and local speakers, sponsoring community forums, promoting the Best of the Heights survey and awards, and leading neighborhood walking tours, educate the public about important local issues and mobilize people to take action. We believe all citizens can contribute energy, ideas, and action to building a better community and we work to provide tools to make this a reality. Murray Ridge Center, located in Elyria, Ohio, is a nursing facility that provides health care services to individuals with developmental disabilities. It includes several community homes that offer its residents training in activities of daily living. In addition to these residential services, Murray Ridge Center provides supported living, family support, respite care, personal care attendant services and crisis intervention.
