Jeni Apthorpe, MSN, APRN-CNP

I am originally from Pittsburgh, PA area. I was inspired to become a pediatrician because of care our family doctor provided to my brother as he battled asthma. I have been married to my husband, Patrick, for 15 years. We have a 6-year-old daughter. I received my medical degree from the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine in Philadelphia, PA. I am certified by the American Board of Pediatrics and I am an Assistant Professor of Pediatrics at Northeast Ohio Medical University in Rootstown, OH. I am also a fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics.

I was born in Pittsburgh, PA, but grew up in Frederick, MD. I was inspired to enter medicine at 9 years old when I saw my 3-month-old nephew in the NICU. I've been married for 10 years. My husband is an ER physician. We have three boys who are 7-, 5-, and 2-years old. I received my graduate nursing degree from The Ohio State University, Columbus, OH. I am certified by the Pediatric Nursing Certification Board and I am a member of the National Association of Pediatric Nurse Practitioners.

Celeste is a pediatric nurse practitioner at Akron Children’s Pediatrics, where she’s been practicing since 2014. She earned her bachelor’s and master’s degrees from Ursuline College in Pepper Pike, Ohio. Celeste is certified by the American Nurses Credentialing Center and is a member of the American Association of Nurse Practitioners.
