Globe Metallurgical produces silicon metal for the chemical and aluminum industries, as well as specialty ferrosilicon alloys and 75 percent ferrosilicon for the foundry and steel industry. The company utilizes three manufacturing facilities in Beverly, Ohio, Selma, Ala., and Niagara Falls, N.Y. Globe is among the largest supplier of magnesium ferrosilicon to ductile iron foundries worldwide and inoculants to iron foundries. The company produces specialty foundry alloys (silicon-based ferroalloys containing magnesium, calcium, rare earths and other elements) that are custom tailored to specific customer needs and consist of the nodularizer, a magnesium ferrosilicon additive that converts gray iron to ductile iron, and inoculants product categories. Founded in 1871 and headquartered in Beverly, Globe is among the largest ferroalloy manufacturer in the United States.
