Glamorgan Castle stands as one of Alliance's most iconic landmarks, steeped in rich history and architectural grandeur. Listed in the National Register of Historic Places, this magnificent structure was commissioned by Col. William Henry Morgan, showcasing his grand vision and attention to detail.
Constructed with 100 tons of structural steel and 96 train-car loads of Vermont marble, Glamorgan Castle exudes strength and elegance. Boasting modern amenities uncommon in traditional castles, such as bowling alleys and a swimming pool, the castle offers a glimpse into a bygone era of opulence and comfort.
Once the residence of the Morgan family, Glamorgan Castle has undergone various transformations over the years, from being the headquarters of a renowned company to now housing the central administrative offices of Alliance City Schools. Visitors can explore this architectural gem through guided tours, offering a unique insight into its fascinating history and intricate design.
