Dr. Girdwood considers it a blessing to be able to work every day with an awesome group of patients and staff. As a 20+ year cancer survivor, Dr. "Bart" sees each day and each personal interaction as an opportunity to make the world a better place. He received his Bachelor of Science Degree in Chemical Engineering from The Ohio State University in 1989. After five years of working as an engineer Cargill, Inc, he decided that he would like to have more direct involvement in improving people's lives by obtaining a DDS degree from the University of Tennessee ' Memphis in 1998. Dr. Girdwood combined his love of working with children and his engineering background by graduating from orthodontic residency at the University of Missouri ' Kansas City in 2000. He now runs an orthodontic practice in Lebanon and and Middletown OH, where he is committed to providing the most cutting edge technology in orthodontic care in an environment where patients and families know they are truly cared for and valued. Dr. Bart and his wife, Eileen, who is a registered nurse, settled in the Warren/Butler county area to raise their three children. They appreciate the family-oriented values that the communities in this area exhibit as well as all the activities that the area offers. He takes great joy in giving back to these communities by sponsoring a variety of activities including youth baseball, softball, basketball, football, soccer and cheerleading, as well as class trips, mission trips and band competitions. He stays involved in many of the area schools by lecturing on dental health and by participating in health fairs and career fairs. Many students over the years have also benefited from job shadowing at Dr. Bart's office. When not creating beautiful smiles in his office, Dr. Bart enjoys playing golf with his family and friends, watching his kids participate in their many school activities, cheering on his beloved Ohio State Buckeyes, being involved in church activities and traveling when he has the time.
