The Lucas County Sheriff s Office offers community-based policing and law enforcement services. It maintains field operations, records management, and communication and investigative services bureaus, as well as various task forces for the crime, terrorism, drug, arson and domestic violence prevention. In association with the Ohio Attorney General, the office takes part in a pilot program that allows the citizens of Lucas County, Ohio to be notified of any sex offender living in the vicinity of their residences through electronic sex offender registration notification system. In addition, the Lucas County Sheriff s Office maintains marine patrol, critical incident response and block watch teams. It has an office in Toledo, Ohio.
