WIC (Women, Infants and Children Program) is a nutrition education and supplemental food program for women who are pregnant and breast-feeding infants and children up to the age of 5. The programs provide nutritional assessment, counseling and education solutions. It also offers infant formula for infants not breastfed. WIC maintains more than 15 locations in Franklin County in Ohio. It provides vouchers that are used at grocery stores for nutritious foods, including milk, eggs, cheese, cereal, fruit juice and peanut butter. WIC is a program of the Columbus Public Health, which provides clinical, environmental, health promotion and population-based services. Established in 1904, the department is governed by the City of Columbus.

Franklin County Engineer

The Franklin County Engineer's Office is a local government agency that is responsible for the maintenance and construction of more than 270 miles of the county s roadways and over 360 bridges. It is a part of Franklin County in Ohio and manages ditches, drains, retention basins and other watercourses within the public right-of-ways. The Franklin County Engineer's Office includes a construction department that administers the performance of road and bridge improvement contracts. The department ensures that contractors comply with plans, specifications and regulations, as well as conducts field inspections and material testing surveys. The construction department coordinates with other departments and public entities for various development projects. The Franklin County Engineer's Office has nearly 175 staff members.
