The Franciscan Missionary Union is a fraternity of Franciscan friars with a rich history spanning over 800 years. They are dedicated to serving the poor and marginalized in urban and rural communities across the United States, Cuba, Puerto Rico, and Jamaica, rooted in the spirit of St. Francis of Assisi.
With a focus on prayer, fraternity, and care for the poor, the Franciscan friars live a life of service, working in schools, universities, hospitals, prisons, parishes, and more. They invite individuals to join them in sharing their gifts and talents through mission trips, pilgrimages, volunteer opportunities, and financial donations. In 2023, the friars from six provinces came together to form a new coast-to-coast fraternity, bringing a renewed sense of purpose and commitment to their communities.
