The mission of Lorain County Port Authority is to promote economic development by assisting private industries initiatives; by encouraging development and redevelopment; and by promoting investment in business, industrial and transportation projects.

The Lucas County Board of Developmental Disabilities (LCBDD) is dedicated to enhancing the lives of individuals with developmental disabilities in Toledo, Ohio. Focused on promoting independence and community inclusion, LCBDD provides a comprehensive range of services for both children and adults, such as future planning, community travel training, employment navigation, and service coordination. The location features three buildings tailored to meet diverse needs, including a building specifically designed for adults and another for children. LCBDD is committed to ensuring that every individual can fully participate in community life, make personal choices, and contribute meaningfully to the community.

The Ohio Heartland Community Action Commission is a local, state and federally funded nonprofit organization. It supports Crawford, Marion, Morrow and Richland counties in Ohio. The organization offers food, shelter, transportation and utility services to low-income families. The Ohio Heartland Community Action Commission provides an early childhood development program for foster children and children with special needs between the ages of 3 and 5. The organization additionally offers medical, after-school and educational services. Its Head Start program provides classes in mathematics, science, physical education, and creative and language arts. The Ohio Heartland Community Action Commission has a presence in Marion, Ohio.
