Defender Service Division

The Office of the Federal Public Defender for the Southern District of Ohio operates under the authority of the Criminal Justice Act of 1964, providing defense services to individuals who cannot afford adequate legal representation in federal criminal cases, appeals, and habeas corpus matters. Eligibility for these services is determined by the federal court, and attorneys in this office cannot engage in private practice or represent individuals without a court appointment.
