A 13-member board of trustees oversees the transit system and appoints the president or chief executive officer to manage the daily operations of the authority. COTA provides more than 50,000 weekday bus rides and approximately 3,000 weekly rides on Project Mainstream, COTA s service for people with disabilities. COTA travels throughout Franklin County on more than 60 routes with 4,620 bus stops that total nearly 1,000 miles of bus lines. Its service area covers approximately 560 square miles.
