The Fremont Company is one of the few actual manufacturers of sauerkraut in the United States. The company is an innovative marketer and maker of sauerkraut, including the latest innovation in the industry: Frank's Kraut Singles, a single serving of sauerkraut. The Fremont Kraut Company was founded in 1905, with the combining of several small, Great Lakes area sauerkraut companies. Today, the company is a manufacturer of tomato-based sauces, with a state-of-the-art facility handling private label and co-pack business. The facility has a multi-million dollar high-speed bottling line, class 1000 clean room for sanitizing filling and is certified organinc by Global Organic Alliance and USDA. The Fremont Company is located in Rockford, Ohio.

Founders: Rudolph & Judith Grothouse In 1960 Rudy's Sewer Service was started when Rudy Grothouse purchased his first sewer machine. In approximately 1970, with the additional purchase of a septic tank pumper truck, the company name was changed to Delphos Sanitary Service. In 1983, the name changed again to Grothouse Plumbing & Heating with the additions of one of the sons coming into the business. Finally in 1986, Grothouse Plumbing & Heating, Inc, was formed with several family members working at the company making it a successful and growing business in Delphos Ohio.
