This museum is incredible, it's huge and has so much to see, I love the gift shop, because you can buy books of the current exhibits at a super low price.

The Butler Institute of American Art, founded in 1919, is one of the first structures built specifically to house a collection of works by the artists of the United Nations. Butler s collection includes works by Winslow Homer, William Harnet, Fitz Hugh Lane, Mary Cassatt, Cecelia Beaux, Robert Henri, George Luks and Georgia O Keefe. More than 40 temporary exhibitions of works by historic and contemporary American artists are on display at the Butler Institute each year. Butler features its annual juried National Midyear Show, which brings together paintings from artists across America. It offers a regular program of exhibitions showcasing the finest regional talents and solo shows of works by American's best-known painters and sculptors. The museum is utilized by a large number of community groups and is also available for private events such as weddings and parties. It is located in Youngstown, Ohio.

My favorite place to be in Youngstown when there are school breaks , I love coming here with my kid. Thank you for sharing history with the public, for free; free knowledge.

This is a very nice art museum and I have now been there twice. I enjoyed all the exhibits and while I came for the pastel show I really enjoyed the visualization ceiling room and the paintings....
