Brenneman Lumber Company, founded in 1932, is one of the largest wholesale firms in the United States. It is a family-owned and operated business with yard and offices located in Mount Vernon, Ohio. It is a major supplier of northern Appalachian red and white oak, hard and soft maple, cherry, ash, poplar and beech in varying thickness. The company has more than 30,0000-square-feet of dry storage space, and more than five dry kilns with over 240,000-board-feet capacity. Brenneman Lumber and its employees contribute financially, and also volunteers for youth programs, such as YMCA, youth sports, 4-H, Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts and church youth groups. Its employees are also involved with civic organizations such as Kiwanis, Masonic Lodge and Salvation Army.
