Albertz & Associates CPA, LLC was founded as Guardian Healthcare Consulting Group in 1997. The company became a CPA firm in 2000 and changed its name to Albertz & Associates in 2001.Mark R. Albertz, CPAFounder and Principal of Albertz & Associates, Mark has offered income tax preparation for individuals and small businesses since 1978. From modest beginnings with four clients, Mark now serves individuals and small businesses in 14 states from Maine to California. Over the years, it's become common for clients who find him in the Cincinnati area to continue to use him as their accountant when they move elsewhere.Mark was born and raised in Cincinnati, and has lived on the West Side for more than 55 years. He is a graduate of Xavier University with a Bachelor's Degree in Accounting and a Master's Degree in Finance. He has been a CPA since 1978 and is a member of the Ohio Society of Certified Public Accountants and American Institute of Certified Public Accountants ( AICPA ). Throughout his career he has served as Statewide Manager of Reimbursement for the largest Blue Cross plan in Ohio, Controller for an HMO in the Greater Cincinnati area, and Director of Finance for United Healthcare.In addition to his full-time business, Mark is a member of the Board of Directors for the Sharonville Chamber of Commerce. He has been an Adjunct Professor at the University of Cincinnati, where he taught accounting from 1984 to 2005. He has been married to his wife Marion for more than 30 years and has three children.Amy joined Albertz & Associates team in 2005. She specializes in bookkeeping and tax preparation, and is our resident expert on QuickBooks accounting software. Prior to joining Albertz & Associates, Amy worked as an auditor Marriott International, IncAmy is a native of Cincinnati and earned her associates degree in accounting from the University of Cincinnati's College of Business. Outside the office she can generally be found cheering on the West Virginia University Mountaineers or remodeling her home. She has been married to her husband Bill since 1994.
