It offers a distinguished history of service to persons who are blind or visually impaired throughout a 16-county area in Northwest Ohio.Accredited by the National Accreditation Council of Agencies serving the Blind and Visually Impaired ( NAC ), The Sight Center of Northwest Ohio is equipped to deal with virtually every range of visual impairment from very mild to total blindness. The Center does not provide primary eye care, free vision examinations, or regular prescription eyeglass wear, rather we offer specialized vision rehabilitation services so that people with low vision can make the best use of their remaining vision and people who are blind can continue to live independently.The Sight Center of Northwest Ohio blends a traditional not-for-profit treatment model with a medical office model of care that allows for a rewarding experience for both the client and his/her loved ones. Some of the reasons that The Sight Center has been able to serve Northwest Ohio successfully for the past 80 years and will be able to move forward successfully for years to come include:Few people are really prepared for their first visit to The Sight Center. The emotional stakes are high. Hopes and expectations about improving vision are often unrealistic.
