There are many reasons that people decide to seek counseling. Often times, the relationship we have with ourselves or with others is affected. Usually people seek counseling because what they have been doing to deal with a problem, is no longer working. The actions, or lack of action, by others can also cause a person to seek help. Counseling can help you make sense of problems, gives you an outside professional opinion and direction, and helps you recognize your strengths. All of my appointment offerings are in the evening, starting at 5:30pm. The first session is a chance for me to gather information from you to help me understand your struggles and identify your strengths. It is also a chance for you to see if I am a good match for your needs. It is important you feel comfortable with your counselor. You should feel like you are listened to and understood and that you can trust your counselor. Sessions are usually held weekly at first, and can then be held less frequently, depending on your needs. It is a very flexible process, based on your needs being met. My services are reimbursable by most insurance companies. Feel free to call me to inquire about this, if you are not sure what is covered. I am a one-person business. I do my own billing and rent space from another therapist. Since I am self-employed, I work for you. Please be aware that I am unable to see military veterans, but I have a some very good referral sources for veterans services.
