Safe Kids Grand Forks
Safe Kids Grand Forks is a local coalition dedicated to preventing unintentional injuries among children ages 19 and under, a leading cause of death in this age group in the United States. As part of the global network Safe Kids Worldwide, the coalition brings together health and safety experts, educators, and community members to provide education and resources aimed at reducing childhood injuries in northeast North Dakota and northwest Minnesota.
Since its inception in 1988, Safe Kids Grand Forks has contributed to a 64% decrease in unintentional injury rates among children, thanks to the collaborative efforts of various partners, including Altru Health System, law enforcement, and childcare providers. The coalition's extensive network works diligently to keep children safe at home, in schools, during play, and while traveling.
