Chahinkapa Zoo in Wahpeton, ND, is home to over 200 animals from six continents, including Bengal tigers, white rhinos, and orangutans. As North Dakota's first zoo, this 29-acre destination has welcomed visitors since 1933 with hands-on exhibits, educational programs, a historic carousel, a petting zoo, and a variety of seasonal events and activities. Open May through October and by appointment in winter, it's a local favorite offering fun, learning, and conservation for curious explorers of all ages.

A zoo thats $12.50 a person? Nice deal for the amount of animals located at the zoo. Compared to the Seattle zoo, this definitely had a wide variety of animals to see. What you can see here are...

I really enjoyed how close I was able to get to these animals, such as the Grizzly bear and White rhino. But I was really sad on how small the enclosures were, compared to the Zoo in Asheboro, NC...

Amazing zoo! I'm from Dallas, TX this zoo beat what we have. The staff has been wonderful and interactive. The kids have really enjoyed it. Highly recommend coming to visit
