The YMCA of Alexander County conducts fitness classes for children in the age group of 8 to 12. It also organizes progressive gymnastics classes. The YMCA's fitness center is equipped with Nautilus machines. Located in Taylorsville, N.C., the YMCA of Alexander County additionally operates a conference room and aerobics studio. It publishes a quarterly newsletter that features health-related articles. The center also conducts martial arts, kickboxing and yoga sessions, as well as teen camps and field trips. It is a part of the YMCA of Iredell County, a membership association of men, women and children of all ages and abilities.

The YMCA of Alexander County is the place to get a good workout. The staff is professional and friendly, and there are lots of weight machines, treadmills, bikes, elliptical machines, and much more.
