History
NC State student radio started in 1922, but has been in continuous operation since 1944. WKNC has been at 88.1 FM since 1966 and added an HD radio signal in 2016.
Specialties

Best radio station in town. They've got an eccletic selection of shows and it sounds like the djs are having a good time. These folks are keeping local radio alive - Bless them for that!!

College radio usually means random obscure music... not NC State's WKNC! Definitely the best radio around. Not much commercials, and mostly popular indie music. I listen to it over UNC's radio...
