History

Wild Abundance was formed to help folks learn skills for Earth-based self-sufficiency and interdependence to re-empower people with confidence and competence, bringing them together around authentic ways to live. We are laying down roots here! Over the years, Wild Abundance has successfully taught hundreds of students in a hands-on learning style that has fostered a whole network of people who walk away knowing how to design and build a carpentry project, forage wild food and medicine, design and build their own tiny house, reconnect with the wild, bring a sense of connectedness to their daily lives in the city, suburbs, and country, among many other things. We continue to grow as a school, but also our student network continues to grow as a community.

Specialties

Nestled in the Southern Appalachians on a breath-taking eco-homestead, Wild Abundance offers classes near Asheville, teaching skills in off-grid living and homesteading and empowering people to live sustainably. Our classes fall under our themes of homesteading, tiny houses and natural building, primitive skills, wild foods and medicine, and permaculture classes. Explore how to build tiny houses, learn about natural building, practice wilderness survival skills, grow your own food, and learn hide tanning. You'll gain experience in plant identification, foraging, food preservation and organic gardening and eventually become able to implement a more holistic work-life balance.
