I chose to become a doctor because it paired my love for caring for people and families and my intellectual curiosity. I find it meaningful to get to know each patient individually and I strive for our conversations to be centered in shared decision-making. I have had the opportunity to work with wonderful mentors who have shown me the value of astute medical care paired with a kind bedside manner and I hope to take after them in my practice. I am particularly interested in adolescent health, along with mental health in primary care. Outside of work, I like to watch sports, read and spend time with my family.

I have always enjoyed helping and getting to know others, and medicine allowed me to do so in a way that combined my love of science and lifelong learning. The true joy of being a physician is developing relationships with patients and tailoring medicine to their unique life journeys. To be entrusted with someone’s health is a great honor. I value a physician-patient relationship based on kindness, respect and honesty. I enjoy getting to know patients and finding ways to treat and prevent medical conditions in a way that fits their lives. I believe that medicine must be individualized to have the greatest success, which is why it is so important to know your patients. When not at work, I enjoy spending time with my husband, daughter and dog. We love to be outdoors as much as possible. You can find us hiking, camping or listening to live music in the Triangle during our free time.

I find great joy in the diverse landscape of primary care, welcoming patients of all ages and backgrounds. My philosophy of care is grounded in a patient-centered approach. I believe in creating an inclusive environment where every patient feels valued, heard and understood. My goal is to provide evidence-based, holistic care that promotes overall well-being. When not at work, I enjoy being outside on local trails with my dogs. I also enjoy traveling with my family, cheering on the Tar Heels, and seeing live music.
