Rutherford LifeServices is a nonprofit organization providing various rehabilitation and care services. It assists individuals and families with special needs for enhancing the quality of life. It offers a wide range of programs, including Life Care, Life Start, Life Skills, Life Challenge and Life Abilities. Its Life Challenge program prepares youth for schooling and specific occupations and helps with basic skills, work readiness issues and occupational skills. The Life Start program is a day care program that helps children attain strong educational and social skills. Through its Life Care program it provides various services to the elderly, such as medication, special foods, treatments, transportation, assistance with personal care, courtyards and activities, such as crafts, music, fitness, movies, outings, seasonal celebrations and gardening. Rutherford LifeServices is located in Spindale, N.C.

HistoryADED began with an organizational meeting in Detroit, Michigan, on August 25 & 26, 1977. Thirty people, from ten states, representing professionals in the field of driver evaluation and training of persons with disabilities attended this meeting. The initial meeting determined the type of organizational structure, the official name, initial officers, standing committees and membership fees. The first official newsletter was also created. Since that date, ADED has continued to expand. Emphasis is placed on the yearly conference with its workshops, conference training programs and one of the largest exhibits of products for both the driver with a disability as well as for the professional working in this field. Membership also continues to increase with representation from nearly every state plus Canada, Australia, and England.SpecialtiesADED: The Association for Driver Rehabilitation Specialists assist drivers with disabilities and aging. ADED established best practices for driver rehabilitation and offers the CDRS certification

Based in Gastonia, N.C., Dreamweavers Unlimited Inc. provides a range of services to children/adults with developmental delays, disabilities and mental health challenges. The centre offers an array of services, such as speech therapy, individual/family counseling, music therapy and early intervention, to name a few. Additionally, it provides home/community support, personal care as well as consultative services, among others. Dreamweavers Unlimited Inc. serves children suffering from cerebral palsy, developmental delay, hearing impairment, autism, stuttering and more.
