The Davie County Enterprise Record is an amalgam of three newspapers that date back to 1899. The Republican-leaning Davie Record operated literally across the street from the Democratic Mocksville Enterprise until their merger in 1958. The resulting Davie County Enterprise Record merged with the Cooleemee Journal in 1971 to operate as the lone newspaper in the county.
