University of North Carolina at Asheville has been operational for more than 55 years. One of the leading providers of secondary education in the United States, it enrolls more than 5,000 undergraduate and graduate students annually. Located in Asheville, N.C., the university is approved by the Commission on Higher Education and Middle States Association of Colleges and Schools. It provides various technical and vocational programs, public and postsecondary educational studies, community outreach activities, and related services. It offers associate's degrees in various academic areas, including allied health, business and public service, engineering and technologies, and fine and liberal arts. Additionally, the university provides day, evening and weekend classes, winter and summer sessions, distance learning options, Internet and telecourses, child care centers, tutorial and counseling solutions, career resource facilities, student organizations and clubs, and disabled student resource centers.
