The Lost Colony is a cultural treasure and the best family entertainment on the Outer Banks! The 2024 season runs May 31 -August 24, Monday - Saturday at 8:30 PM in our Waterside Theatre on Roanoke Island. In 1587, 117 English men, women and children came ashore on Roanoke Island to establish a permanent English settlement in the New World. Just three years later in 1590, when English ships returned to bring supplies, they found the island deserted with no sign of the colonists. After nearly 450 years, the mystery of what happened to the colonists remains unsolved. The Lost Colony, is performed each summer on the same site where these actual events occurred. A company of over 100 actors, dancers, singers and technicians create a magical evening for your whole family. New music compositions, authentic Native American dances, elegant costume design and more are part of the 86th season of The Lost Colony. Enjoy a night under the stars at Waterside Theatre!
