The Carteret County Historical Society (CCHS) serves the Carteret County community of North Carolina. Its mission focuses on preserving and presenting local history to its members, residents, and visitors. This is done through stories, films, publications, exhibits, and presentations that are supported by its collections of artifacts, photographs, books, media, and documents. The History Museum of Carteret County is where this all happens. Under one roof, the museum features, short and long-term exhibits, and events center available for rent, a research archive, and a museum gift shop that carries a variety of books by local authors.
