South Point High School

South Point High School is a part of Gaston County Schools, which operates several elementary, middle and high schools. South Point High School is accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools. It serves more than 1,200 students in grades 9 through 12. The school s staff includes teachers, instructional assistants, administrators, specialists, counselors, nurses, social workers, and cafeteria and custodial personnel. It offers a range of general academic and extracurricular courses in English, math, science, social studies and fine arts. The school also offers foreign language programs in French and Spanish. In addition, South Point High School offers medical care and guidance and counseling services to students. It operates several student organizations, such as the National Honor Society, a student council, and drama, Bible, interact and environmental clubs. The school supports various sports activities, including basketball, baseball, volleyball, tennis, swimming, golf, soccer, cross country, and track and field.
