Pediatric Specialty Care is a child-friendly medical group that provides subspecialty children s care services. It offers pulmonary care services for respiratory diseases, cystic fibrosis and asthma; and nephrological treatment services for children with abnormal kidney function, nephrotic syndrome, glomerulonephritis and hypertension. The group also provides gastrointestinal care for digestive disorders, gastric bleeding, malnutrition and reflux, as well as treatment and diagnostic options of congenital heart diseases for adults. Pediatric Specialty Care at the East Carolina University additionally performs bronchoscopy, pulmonary function testing, electrophysiology, pacemaker installation, echocardiography, colonoscopy and endoscopy procedures. It is located in Greenville, N.C., and is a part of ECU Physicians, which is a network of practice groups that is managed by the East Carolina University. Faris Fayed earned a Bachelor's in Nursing from East Carolina University and a Master's in Nursing from Western Carolina University. He is also a Family Nurse Practitioner. Faris has over seven years of experience as a surgical intensive care unit RN. In his spare time, he enjoys hiking and traveling and as a native to Eastern North Carolina, he is also an ECU Pirates fan.
