I chose to become a physical therapist because I had a desire to work closely with patients and help them reach their desired goals. I love connecting with people and learning about what they want to accomplish so that I can use my love of exercise and anatomy to put together a game plan that increases their confidence and quality of life. My approach to care is to make my patients feels as comfortable as they can around me through supportive and open communication. I love for patients to open up to me so I understand what will make their therapy successful in the long run to prevent them from ever having to come back to physical therapy. When I am not at work, I love to weightlift, read a new book, spend time with family and friends, try new restaurants and bars in the Triangle area, and watch any and every sport.

I am a breast surgical oncologist who specializes in the surgical management and treatment of breast cancer. I have specialized training in oncoplastic surgery including lumpectomy with tissue rearrangement, mastectomy, nipple-sparing mastectomy, skin-sparing mastectomy and axillary procedures. I am interested in preventing lymphedema (arm swelling) during cancer treatment with the axillary reverse mapping procedure. At UNC, you will receive a multi-disciplinary approach to breast cancer, and we strive to offer compassionate, personalized care.

My approach to patient care is rooted in a belief that every person is unique, and their treatment should be as individualized as they are. I focus on evidence-based practices, working collaboratively with each patient to create a personalized treatment plan that not only addresses their immediate concerns but also empowers them to take control of their long-term health. My goal is to help each patient achieve the best possible outcome, whether that means returning to an active lifestyle, competitive sport, improving strength and mobility, or preventing future injuries. Outside of the clinic, I enjoy spending time outdoors – running trails, hiking, camping, outdoor concerts.
