Sanford Public Works Engineer

City of Sanford Public Works Department, led by a public works director, comprises 12 divisions and more than 100 employees. Located in Sanford, N.C., its water treatment plant has the capacity to treat more than 10 million gallons of water per day. The department s administration division develops and updates all operational policies and procedures for each division. Its engineering division is responsible for engineering design and plan review of extensions of the city s water, sewer and street system. The department s wastewater treatment plant has a permitted capacity of more than 6 million gallons per day. Its wastewater construction and maintenance division maintains all sewer mains within the system that include routine cleaning and flushing of sewer mains, mowing and maintaining of cross country rights-of-way and inspections of the sewer system. The department s beautification division plants and maintains the beds throughout the city limits.
