Ronda Wright, FNP - Novant Health Express at Walgreens

When I was 9 years old, my parents went on a medical mission trip to Central America. This sparked my interest in healthcare, and I knew then I wanted a career in medicine. After college, I worked for a medical nonprofit in Honduras, which further opened my eyes to the importance of access to high quality healthcare. \n I chose internal medicine since it allows me to get to know my patients and help them achieve their health goals throughout many stages of their lives. I see each patient as an individual and tailor treatment plans to them that take into consideration their goals and life circumstances. I strive to provide compassionate, individualized, thorough and evidence-based care. \n When not at work, I enjoy hiking, being on the lake and traveling with my husband and our two sons.

As an internal medicine physician, I see myself as the quarterback of my patients' healthcare team. I am responsible for monitoring each patient's overall health, suggesting ways to stay as healthy as possible and bringing in other care providers when necessary. It is an honor and a privilege to provide counsel and advice when a patient is in need. \n Teaching is one of the most important parts of what I do. I offer the information and education each patient needs to make informed decisions about their health. Whether it's screening, medication or referrals, I am here to answer questions and set minds at ease. I see myself as a guide who can provide a map or timeline for their care and also help them navigate unexpected circumstances. \n I am very fortunate to work alongside my dad, who is also a physician in the same clinic as me. When I am not at work, I am a devoted ice hockey fan and player. You can often find me cheering on the Minnesota Wild or hitting the ice myself as a goalie in local adult leagues. I'm an avid LEGO collector, so please ask me about my collection or builds! I also like visiting art exhibits, taking in comedy shows and visiting new restaurants in the area.
