As a nurse, I was seeing patients in the hospital who could have avoided being hospitalized if they had proper care in the outpatient setting. I became an advanced practice provider because I wanted to improve my patients' quality of care and life. For me, it is important that I establish a relationship with my patients. I want them to feel comfortable in discussing their health, physical and mental, with me. I like for them to think of us a team as we make medical decisions together. When I am not at work, I am a mom to my two very active girls. I love reading. I am always wanting to try new restaurants and visiting new places .

I chose to become an advanced practice provider (APP) because I love improving the quality of life for others. There are so many ways to improve health and wellness, and I am grateful to be able to share these with my patients in a positive way and celebrate their progress with them. My philosophy and approach to patient care includes a collaborative and comprehensive path with the patient to achieve a state of well-being for the patient. Active listening and empathy are tools that I employ to attain goals with patients. My areas of interest include promoting adult health and wellness, and I am keenly interested in rheumatologic disorders. My passion outside of work is caring for and riding my horses.
