The North Carolina Department of Correction is responsible for promoting public safety through the administration of an effective system for custody of offenders and their rehabilitation. The department provides custodial and correctional services to more than 150,000 state offenders. The North Carolina Department of Correction coordinates various educational, community work, treatment and transitional programs for inmates. Its community corrections division is responsible for the supervision of adult offenders on probation and parole. The North Carolina Department of Correction also provides transition and offender search and family services. Its office of victim services offers consultation and educational services to individuals and families.

Davison Correctional Center

The North Carolina Department of Correction protects the safety of citizens in communities throughout North Carolina by providing alternatives and supervision to offenders placed in its custody. It employs a staff of more than 40 officers. The department maintains the community corrections division that is responsible for the supervision of adult offenders on probation, parole and post-release parole supervision. In addition, it oversees several community service work programs. The North Carolina Department of Correction s alcoholism and chemical dependency programs division provides comprehensive intervention, programs, services and opportunities to achieve self-actualized recovery to offenders with alcohol and drug problems. With an office in Lexington, N.C., its office of victim services assists the victims of crime and provides expertise and education to victims.
