Located northwest of Winston-Salem and just south of Mt. Airy, Pilot Mountain State Park is one of North Carolina's most popular and visible destinations. There are a variety of physical activities available to the park's visitors including rock climbing, hiking and cycling.

For those who love to hike, Pilot Mountain State Park is one of the best destinations in the state to do so. The park is divided into two sections, the mountain section and Yadkin River section. Both sections provide ample trails. For those who like to fish, catfish and crappie are prevalent in the park. In addition, horseback riding and canoeing are other options.

Warm, dry days are the best times to visit the park. Generally speaking, Pilot Mountain State Park should be avoided during the winter months.

My daughter and her friend are both in wheelchsits. They had access to so much of the park it was very well maintained and we were all pleased with our experience!!!!

Bf's kids are taking us here to watch the sunset and they are excited to show off the state park 20 miles from where they live. It's a windy road to the top and it's so much cooler temperature...

Pilot Mountain State Park is a great park to visit. I drove to the top viewing area then walked up to the top. Admission is free to the park and restrooms were available close to the parking...

This park in the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains is well kept and maintained. Nice trails and facilities. The view from the top is far reaching and sunsets are beautiful. Keep pets on...
