Craven County Hospice
Home Health services at the Craven County Health Department provides home care and treatment services for patients in Craven and Pamlico counties in North Carolina. It has a staff of medical assistants, home health aides, social workers, nutritionists, nurses and therapists. Home Health services offers counseling, personal assistance, nutritional education and emotional support services, as well as physical, speech and occupational therapies. The Craven County Health Department is accredited by the North Carolina Local Health Department Accreditation Board. The department provides prevention, screening, treatment and educational services. It offers services in the areas of dental, adult, hospice care, environmental and child health. The Craven County Health Department also maintains a clinical laboratory that provides testing services in the areas of bacteriology, mycology, syphilis serology, immunology, urinalysis, endocrinology and hematology. Its laboratory additionally conducts supportive tests for maternity, family planning, tuberculosis and sexually transmitted diseases, as well as performs more than 40,000 in-house tests annually. The department is located in New Bern, N.C.
