The American Chestnut Land Trust (ACLT) is a nonprofit organization dedicated to providing environmentally sustainable public access to managed properties for educational, scientific, recreational, and cultural purposes. Since its establishment in 1986, ACLT and its partners have successfully preserved over 3,800 acres of land across the Parkers Creek and Governors Run watersheds.
ACLT offers a variety of guided hikes and canoe trips throughout the year, showcasing the region's diverse natural landscapes. With 26 miles of trails open to the public year-round, visitors can experience local flora and fauna in their natural habitats while supporting the mission of land conservation.
