Neil Kheterpal, DO

I became an advanced practice provider to develop a partnership with patients and their families. I was raised in rural North Carolina and my first exposure to healthcare was seeing a home health nurse provide care to my great-grandmother. This seed was planted and grew into what I became today. I love using a holistic approach while caring for my patients, thus empowering them to make informed decisions. My areas of special interest include primary care and men's health. Outside of work, I like to exercise, bake and spend time with my family.

I became a doctor because I enjoy helping people. I want to take care of every patient of mine the way that I would want myself or my own family members to be treated. Patient care starts with good listening and respect. I strive to be my patient's best coach, listener and teammate. I have always enjoyed taking care of patients of all ages. Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with my family and friends. I love outdoor activities, traveling and watching comedy shows.

I became an advanced practice provider with specialty in family practice to develop an ongoing partnership with patients, as well as their family members to achieve optimal health. I have a great interest in the diversity of care provided in primary care. I appreciated the opportunity to see older children, adults and elderly. I strongly support utilizing holistic healthcare while caring for my patients. As I care for my patients, I try to incorporate their physical and psychosocial elements that pertain to their healthcare to ultimately reach their healthcare goals. I place great emphasis on patient education and empowering patients to become informed to make the best decisions for their health care. I strive every day to provide emphatic care for patients and their families. When I am not working, I enjoy reading and going to the mountains and outer banks of North Carolina. I also enjoy watching NFL and college football games and going to ECU and UNC college games every season. I enjoy going to local events in Raleigh and Wake Forest with my husband and son.
