Established in 1938 as the Soil Testing Division, NCDA&CS Agronomic Services Division, also known as the North Carolina Department of Agriculture and consumer services Agronomic Services Division, plans for the reduction of degraded resource bases and tackles environmental problems. It provides science-based land management information for large-scale farmers, homeowners and weekend gardeners. NCDA&CS Agronomic Services Division also offers educational resources related to fertilization, liming, pest control, irrigation and waste management.
