For more than 140 years Hersey Meters has supplied products to the water industry. Its product offerings include positive displacement meters, horizontal and vertical turbine meters, compound meters, fire meters, automatic meter reading equipment and detector checks. These products have the capability to accurately measure water and ensure full revenue in applications ranging from residential flows to demanding fire and master meters. Founded in 1859 as Hawes and Hersey in south Boston, Hersey originally manufactured rotary pumps, bolts and general machinery. After the first water meters were introduced in 1885, Hersey meters were sold in more than 35 states and territories by 1889. In 1992, the company relocated to a 142,000-square-foot, ISO 9002-certified facility in Cleveland, N.C. Hersey Meters is a subsidiary of Mueller Water Products.
