Burklee Printing Company

Burklee Printing Co., Inc was started in 1988 in the upstairs area of an existing typesetting business in downtown Winston Salem. We started with a couple of people, some old presses and a tabletop folding machine. The first space we occupied was about the size of a bathroom. We spent a lot of time learning and making a lot of mistakes, and after some time of wondering what the heck we were thinking, things began to fall into place. In the summer of 1989, we relocated to our current office on West Point Blvd. where we had lots of room for growth and could meet our customers' needs. We purchased new equipment, built a darkroom, updated our bindery equipment and began running a pretty smooth operation. The printing industry remained consistent in technology for only a short time after that. Typesetting equipment was being phased out with computers and software programs targeted towards "desk top publishing." We soon realized that our way of doing things was going the way of the wagon wheel. We tore down the darkroom, threw away the typesetting equipment and invested in computers and software that allowed us to go directly from computers to plates to press. Once again, we found ourselves relearning and changing to better suit our customers' needs. We built our business while we helped our customers build their businesses. We knew that building relationships with our customers would be the most important thing we could do. Our customers know that we care about their business and that we're here to help them grow after all, if our customers grow so do we! In 1999 we expanded our products and services based on our customers' needs. Folks were asking where they could get signs made, get shirts embroidered and screen printed as well as get key chains and coffee cups custom printed for their customers. We put our heads together and currently, we offer a full line of custom printing, promotional items, screen printing and embroidery, as well as sign, banners, and large format printing. We like to say "We print everything except money." ( We'll do a lot to meet our customers' needs, but going to jail isn't one of them.: ) ) Now, you may ask what makes Burklee Printing different from JOE BLOW Printers down the street. In 1988, we started a business from an idea, we've marketed it, we've watched it grow, and we've satisfied our customers by providing what they need to grow their businesses. Call us today, or email us, or better yet, if you're in the neighborhood, drop in and see us! We promise to make a lasting impression.
