Megin Gregory, MD

I am a surgical oncologist with special training in the care of breast cancer patients. My team and I have locations in Huntersville and Charlotte, making it easier for patients across the area to access high-quality breast cancer care close to home. \n I use advanced techniques for breast cancer surgery, including breast conservation (lumpectomy) with and without cosmetic adjustments (oncoplastic techniques), mastectomy, nipple-sparing mastectomy and the most up-to-date procedures for removing lymph nodes from under the arm. \n One of the things I enjoy most about Novant Health is that I work closely with a multidisciplinary team of experts - from medical and radiation oncologists to specialized breast cancer nurse navigators, therapists and counselors - and we are all focused on providing the highest quality breast cancer care in the clinic and in the operating room. \n My clinical and research interests include the treatment and biology of breast cancer in the young and elderly. I enjoy doing research, including serving as the principal investigator for a national clinical trial at Novant Health. In addition to my clinical work, I have written more than 30 articles for peer-reviewed clinical and professional publications. \n My hobbies include cooking, boating, exercising, reading and traveling, as well as spending time with my wonderful husband and children.

Steven L. Gilchrist, MD, is committed to serving the needs of each patient and creating a highly personalized plan of care for each individual. As a husband and a father, he values the importance of excellent care for every member of the family. He wants all of his patients to be aware of the latest diagnostic and treatment guidelines in order to provide cutting edge care for each individual. Dr. Gilchrist thoroughly enjoys the evaluation and management of all aspects of family medicine, from newborns to seniors. He has a keen interest in cardiovascular disease, hypertension, diabetes, acne and women's health and provides quality management of childhood and adult ADD and ADHD.

As an internal medicine physician, I see myself as the quarterback of my patients' healthcare team. I am responsible for monitoring each patient's overall health, suggesting ways to stay as healthy as possible and bringing in other care providers when necessary. It is an honor and a privilege to provide counsel and advice when a patient is in need. \n Teaching is one of the most important parts of what I do. I offer the information and education each patient needs to make informed decisions about their health. Whether it's screening, medication or referrals, I am here to answer questions and set minds at ease. I see myself as a guide who can provide a map or timeline for their care and also help them navigate unexpected circumstances. \n I am very fortunate to work alongside my dad, who is also a physician in the same clinic as me. When I am not at work, I am a devoted ice hockey fan and player. You can often find me cheering on the Minnesota Wild or hitting the ice myself as a goalie in local adult leagues. I'm an avid LEGO collector, so please ask me about my collection or builds! I also like visiting art exhibits, taking in comedy shows and visiting new restaurants in the area.
