The Matthews Free Medical Clinic is a free medical clinic in which volunteer physicians and nurses treat low income, uninsured patients of of Matthews NC, and surrounding areas, including Mecklenburg and Union Counties. It is a nonprofit organization funded by grants, private donations, and an annual golf tournament. Staffed by volunteer physicians and nurses, a paid nurse manager, a paid part-time clinic director, and lay people, the clinic provides well patient care, treatment of chronic diseases such as hypertension and diabetes, and gynecological exams.

Holy Angels

Holy Angels, established in 1961, is a nonprofit organization that offers medical assistance and health care services to patients suffering from mental disorders, retardation and physical disabilities.
