Laurey Masterton, an author, activist and one of the founding chefs of the Asheville culinary scene, bravely battled uterine and ovarian cancer for more than two decades before passing on in 2014. Her legacy lives on, however - in her writings, her books, her activism with LiveSTRONG and Outward Bound, and especially in her life motto don't postpone joy.
