Lauren Leeper, MD

Although clich to say, the reason I became a physician was to help patients. I really enjoy partnering with patients educating them on their disease process and discussing treatment options together. I like to come up with the best solution to the problem as a team. My areas of interest are hearing loss, ear disease and skull base disorders. Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with my husband, daughter and miniature Goldendoodle.

My desire to pursue training in Otology/Neurotology stems from the uniquely special opportunity to restore or improve the sense of hearing. This can range from ensuring an infant has the ability to develop spoken language to an older adult being able to hear their grandchildren again. My approach to patient care is patient/family-centered by providing information about their condition and coming up with a treatment plan together.

I choose to become a nurse practitioner to directly work with patients to improve their health. As a nurse practitioner, I want to center my practice around developing rapport with the patients and utilizing critical thinking skills to foster positive patient outcomes. My goal as a provider is to help my patient understand their condition, its prognosis, and treatment options. Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with my husband and our two dogs (a Pomsky and a Shih Tzu). I also enjoy reading, cooking and traveling.
